John moore’s bar
If we had to use three words to describe John Moore’s Bar, we would say ‘unique’, ‘friendly’, and ‘relaxed’.
A combination of a rum shop and beach bar, this location is so picturesque it has been regularly used in music videos. It’s a fantastic place to immerse yourself in the local culture; you can sit inside and while-away the hours, but to sample its true atmosphere is to be out at the picnic tables where folks spend their time chatting and enjoying a relaxing afternoon/evening.
A legendary spot on the island
The bar has a rich history and moved to its current location in 1959. It’s now in a privileged position - right by the waterfront and just a few steps away from the sea. It. The place has adopted a relatively modern look, but it’s still the favourite location of the ‘old guard’ in fact some of its most loyal customers continue to call this place “the office”. At John Moore’s Bar, visitors can mix with fishermen and the locals, creating an intimate and relaxing atmosphere. You should try the medium-sized bottle of Mount Gay XO on the rocks, or the rum punch mixed by the bartender. If you wake up early though, you can have the local fried-fish breakfast with drinks served with lots of ice … and smiles.
