Nestled in the Sandy Lane Estate on the West Coast of Barbados, Elsewhere is a luxury villa suffused in greenery that transports you to a mythical space between the ocean and the clouds.
Arise to the antics of green monkeys in the gardens, observe the hummingbirds, sailing ships and flowering trees by day and catch the soul-stirring views of the sunset each evening. The breeze constantly flows through the various courtyards, patios, loggias, balconies, and terraces of this villa that sprawls over two acres on a ridge with sweeping views.
This ten bedroom luxury vacation rental is a labour of love, furnished elegantly to the highest standard and fitted with magical lights, works of art, beautiful brickwork and imaginatively created spaces where guests can entertain and relax.
The main house has two wings with six en suite bedrooms, a living room, covered patio, kitchen, and courtyard. A charming loggia and bar area overlooking the front and back gardens is one of the focal points of the house.
The pool house has two en suite bedrooms above a large poolside lounge area and bar.
A charming garden cottage, with a living room and two en suite bedrooms, opens to a private lawn and mahogany grove.
Elsewhere is a five-minute drive (or a 15-minute walk) from the beautiful Sandy Lane Owners Beach Club where guests have free access to a beach cabana, chaise lounges, umbrellas, snack bar, washrooms and showers.
Some of the best restaurants and duty-free shopping in Barbados is close at hand as are some of the island’s most desirable golf courses. The villa manager and incredibly helpful concierge service will point the way and help you select activities during your stay.
Our chef Debra is world class, and the entire staff is warm and welcoming. Additional hands will ensure your drinks are topped, clothes spiffed up and massage is booked. Rihanna has stayed here, and Pavarotti has sung in these gardens.

It is hard to put into words our feelings about our stay in this magnificent villa. I could begin with the building itself, and its marvellous location and views. I could then, I suppose, describe the beautiful décor and furniture. From there, I could start to try and describe the food we have been treated to during our two-week stay. All these things make a package of excellent quality and sheer luxury. The main thing that brings all these features together and combines them to create this luxury has to be the staff. They have been joyful, pleasant, kind and friendly and we feel we are leaving true friends behind in Barbados.
What can we say that hasn't already been said? 14 of our closest family & friends have stayed here for 9 days over New years. Elsewhere, as a house, has completely exceeded our expectations. Fantastic space, giving lots of privacy, with every essential item thought of.
We have partied, dined like kings and queens, swam in the pool, had massages, gone marlin fishing, used the Sandy Lane beach & the elsewhere cabana, visited all the cricket grounds, met the current West Indies cricket team, met some of the all-time West Indies cricket legends, swam with turtles, and of course, have drunk vast quantities of rum.
The whole team at Elsewhere has been SPECTACULAR!! They have absolutely been the icing on the cake of our amazing holiday. All of them have been amazingly friendly, professional and of course superb in their roles. We cannot thank you enough for your help in making this holiday a once in a lifetime experience.
